Project Summary
A third place in Bhar Lazreg, Tunis, is an open and hybrid space, a place between home and work. Dedicated to the residents of the Bhar Lazreg municipality, this space is primarily intended to facilitate interaction among various heterogeneous actors. Third places directly address the challenges faced by local communities by creating new economic and social dynamics in the territories.
What do we propose?
The ingredients of a third place in Bhar Lazreg: an open, adaptable, useful, and practical space for the local population. Targeting a wide social mix, catering to a spectrum from the youngest to the oldest, as well as to active populations. The concept of the third place revolves around spaces capable of multiple uses and programmed reversibility. Today a workspace, tomorrow a leisure space or training center for the Bhar Lazreg region. The third place is designed as an incubator for the municipality. The generous height and open plan allow for the flexibility of uses. The interior is designed to have multiple lives.
Once the space is occupied, it fulfills its primary purpose: an open and hybrid third-place space, a place between home and work, a space for living and leisure. It is a space that changes and fluctuates according to the desires, needs, and expectations of its occupants from different disciplines and age groups. The interior is designed to be free-flowing, adaptable, and flexible.
The furniture, playing along with the concept, adapts to all situations and activities.
